Easter Egg Hunt

We've just attended our first Easter egg hunt and it was a success. Well, we didn't hunt any eggs, but that's because we got a better offer when it came time to egg hunt and James was a little overwhelmed with all the people everywhere. Poor James, our whole church knows him and wants to talk to him, but he would rather no one talk to him and so he gets over stimulated pretty quickly.

Thankfully our life group leaders were running the bean bag toss and James loved this game. I'll have to make him one for the house because he kept wanting to play it over and over again.
The better offer was the bounce house. James loves to bounce and so when all the kids ran to go do the egg hunt he took that opportunity to have the bounce house all to himself. There was a sweet teenager that came in with him and tried to show him how to bounce and play in there.

Fun! Fun! Fun!

Here's Finley having fun bouncing. We're trying to make arrangements for her and James in the future, but for now we're just thankful that she and he are friends. She's the bossy flare that he'll need in his life someday and he loves playing with her.

We're so thankful for our church family and all our friends. It was so nice to walk around today and see all the families playing and laughing with each other.

I always swore I would never do Easter egg stuff with my kids and I would never fall into the whole "let's party on Easter" thing. I never thought I would take my kids to an egg hunt and take the focus off of Jesus, but I believe this Easter and all the fun we've been doing with our friends has only helped us put more focus on Jesus. Without Jesus families like we've gotten to know wouldn't exist. They love their kids, their spouses and their neighbors because Jesus has shown love to them. I am convinced that community was a high priority for Jesus. He spent his life reaching out to others and spending time with his friends. He's the ultimate friend and I'm so thankful that He is in my life and my friend's lives.

If you are reading this blog and you don't have a community of believers around you and your family I beg you to find one. I don't know what I would do, who I would call, who I would hang out with if it wasn't for my church family. We aren't perfect people, but we serve a perfect God and we're learning to love each other. Don't give up if you haven't found a church you love. We looked for 9 years before we found our perfect fit and now we would do anything for any of these people.

Praying for my friends to have a community they love and can be loved in.
