Lady Bug Stuff

This is a pretty sad picture of our back wall, but I hurriedly took it so that you could see the lady bugs. We made these last week when we had our lady bugs in the house. They've been fun to have up. I have several non fiction early readers from my classroom that we've been reading that are about ladybugs and plus we have Eric Carle's "The Grouchy Ladybug" and "Ten Little Ladybugs" which are all great for our insect unit.
Here one is close up. They turned out cute. They painted the red with a paint brush and then used a paint circle dobber for the circles. Then I glued on the triangle, the legs and the face.

We also found this cute puppet at Dollar Tree. It's actually a bath mit, but it works perfectly with little hands. They also have a bumble bee and a frog if you want all three. Dollar Tree is full of insect stuff right now.

It's not sad, its a work in progress and I'm sure it will be as great as your barn. Love your ideas!
