Caterpillar Friends

My brilliant and beautiful friend, Wendy, suggested we make these cute little friends and it was a hit. Still is actually! I had these cute spiky pom poms that created the perfect touch on our little caterpillars. Each kiddo (James and Nana--Remi was out of town) picked out their pom poms and pressed them into hot glue on a thick popsicle stick. Then I glued on little eyes. Aren't they adorable?
We then used them as our reading buddies for "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". They got to munch the food on each page and the kids loved getting to do that.
Here's Nana putting her's together.

It gave us lots of counting practice and practice using a "puppet" while reading. You'll be amazed at how much more a child is willing to do when you use a puppet. It's the perfect way to livin' up any reading time.

James was a little concerned that our caterpillars didn't have a chrysalis so we gave him a nice comfy toilet paper roll.

I had to share this picture of Nana playing in her sensory tub. She went a little nuts with the grass, but those of you that know Nana know that she loves grass so I expected this. Perfect way to use your Easter grass by the way. Thanks Wendy for picking some up for us!!!
