There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly

Do you have this book? If you don't you REALLY need it. This book is a kid favorite because it's so goofy and unreal that they love it! We did a craft with it last week and it's still being used today. Very fun.

This is very easy. Make a dress out of card stock or poster board, cut a hole in the center and staple a sandwich bag behind it. Then find a clip art for each of the animals in the book and cut them out to use for retelling the story. Use yarn or ribbon to make it a necklace and enjoy!

As you read the story your child can put each animal in the old lady's tummy. It's very fun to follow along!! Plus, they can tell the story on their own once they know it well enough because they have all the animals in front of them.

Even little ones can participate. Nana couldn't get the animal picked out on her own, but she could certainly get them in the bag and enjoy the story.

Oh my goodness maile! You have the best ideas on here. Totally going to use this in my classroom. :) Also, where did you get your white shelf with the tubs hanging on your wall? I need something like that for my kids playroom.
