Outside Duckies

Since it warmed up this week we went ahead and moved the ducks outside. We still bring them in at night to sleep in the garage, but during the day they enjoy their nice little area near our back door. I bought some fencing last year to keep them off our porch and will be using it this year until they get a little bigger so they can escape under our gate. Once they are a bit bigger they can be free to roam.
They love swimming in the pool. We've been leaving it full at night so bugs collect in their and in the morning the ducks go and get the bugs. Yummy! I'm sure it's a huge breeding ground for mosquitos so we will have to start dumping it once we see mosquitos around. We don't want to breed those things. Sheesh!
The boys play in the duck pen all the time. They feed them sticks and grass (yes, our ducks like to nibble on sticks) and enjoy following them around and squealing.

The ducks are small enough to fit through the holes in the fencing so when they happen to escape they end up sitting on our doormat hoping we will come out soon and play with them. Here's the boys laying on the mat hoping the ducks will come get on top of them. Ha!
