My cousin, Gail, has a time share at Holly Lake and I took the boys out there this past weekend to spend the night and spend some days playing. We had a great time exploring the outdoors and hanging with Gail, Mammy and Papa.
The night we got there Papa took the boys fishing and both enjoyed casting their lines.
In pure boy fashion they kept daring each other to stick their hands in the water. We saw a sign when we got there that said, "Swim at your own risk. Alligators in water." Most people would not want any part of their body in alligator water, but boys are different than most people!
The next morning we began our day with an hour paddle boat ride down the lake. It was beautiful. Mammy and I paddled while James steered. He was a little apprehensive to wear a life jacket, but he finally pulled himself together and had a great time.
The men took the other paddle boat and spent the whole time trying to beat us, bump us, spin us around, etc. Again, boys will be boys (even at the age of 60).
Mammy and James displaying their most common feature: the squinty smile.
Putt Putt--James got a hole in one on the 7th hole.
And we finished our time off with a little dip in the pool and hot tub. Such a fun trip. Totally worth the 2.5 hour drive.
